Nursing Dementia Care

We are able to offer different types of care for people with dementia. Nursing dementia care is for those with more complex care needs. Staff have received additional, specialist training to ensure they have the knowledge to provide the additional care and support required.

Often, those with dementia in a care setting will also have another long-term condition such as diabetes or arthritis. Some will also have multiple health conditions and require a higher level of nursing care.

Nursing Dementia Care explained

Our nursing dementia care service provides qualified nurses and specialist colleagues to support those living with complex cognitive needs in addition to long-term medical conditions or physical disabilities.

Dementia sufferers often feel disconnected from the world that was once familiar to them. Our nursing dementia team understand this and work to provide reassurance and comfort to them.

Care is planned to ensure that the unique needs of each individual are met. Each resident has a personalised care plan that’s tailored just for them, including everything from medication to meal preferences. These plans are continually reviewed to ensure that support is specific and appropriate for them.

Our team is supported by local GPs and healthcare practitioners to ensure that the care we provide is of the highest quality.

As well as being highly trained to respond to medical needs, our team will always listen and provide empathy for our residents to help them to navigate their way through their dementia journey.
