Here we take the opportunity to share some of the stories and thanks we’ve received from our residents and their families. We hope reading these snippets will help paint a realistic picture in your mind about our care homes, from the enjoyment of day-to-day living to our professional, caring staff.

On 1st August, my wife, presently a resident in Astley Grange Nursing Home, was taken on a visit to the animal park. Invited to accompany her, I was initially apprehensive because of my anxiety regarding the care she would receive but I decided to participate.

This delighted me because I witnessed immaculate care from the 3 members of staff that accompanied the participants from start to finish, who ensured that they were supervised from start to finish of the expedition, which proved to be a happy and successful excursion. The staff are deserving of congratulations and gratitude.

Just wanted to say a massive heartfelt thank you for the care you gave to my mum.

Everyone involved always showed compassion, encouragement and understanding and her dignity was always maintained.

It was a lovely environment for my mum to spend her last few months. Knowing she was safe and being so well cared for was such a relief. There are some happy memories for us from her stay. Thank you again for all you care and commitment.

My mum came to Astley Grange for respite care. She received the utmost care and attention, the staff were caring, considerate and informative and most of all, compassionate. From mum’s beginning to end of life.

My respect goes out to all staff who cared for my mum, especially one lady who went out of her way to care for my mother even on her day off she came to visit her. The staff need commending, they are stars.

The care Mum received was outstanding.

Everyone in the care home spent time with her making her feel part of a family. The dignity and respect she received was wonderful.

Thank you

My Uncle was here for a week of respite care. He was treated with dignity and respect and enjoyed his time immensely.

Astley Grange is bright and clean with a really friendly atmosphere. Nothing is too much trouble for the carers.

He was able to sit out in the garden and really enjoyed his meal times. My Uncle reported how obliging everyone was.

(Mother of Resident)

When we first came into the care home it was a very calm and relaxed feeling. All the staff are excellent. Nothing is ever too much trouble for them. Their care for the patients is excellent, nothing is ever too much trouble.

If I ever need a care home I hope I will be able to come here. I would definitely recommend this one.
